Short version of a long story : Pops & Mom have worked all my life , Pops spent 6 years in Navy (frogman?)?And as long as I can remember Pops always said "Buy American" & had a fit if anybody bought stuff that wasnt ? Pops worked 33 years in the coal mines , retired , Now a cop @ the grade school : Mom worked @ the local bank , retired , worked @ the grade school , retired (again) : We never seemed to have any money when I was @ home with them ? Pops has bought Mom a new big white Cadillac every couple of years for a long time now : Well two weeks ago Pops was driving the Caddy , a woman ran a stop lite , T-Boned him , totaled the Caddy : Lucky He was Not hurt ! They got an Insurance check & went & bought a damn rice-burner ( Honda SUV ) ??? WTH ??? I told them I couldnt believe that they would do that ! Its a smack in the face to all the veterans who fought them zipperheads ! Im just miffed ! Mom said "but its made in Mississipi" ??? Yes & the bottom line profits go to Nakasagi & Hiroshema .... I give Up !!!

    and still around to buy a brand of car that does NOT have the biggest recall history AFTER being bailed out by the AMERICAN taxpayers money by the govt without taxpayer consent.....

    Hate to be the one that tells you this, Bub- but there is no Honda manufacturing plant in Mississippi. Lincoln Alabama and Marysville Ohio. Odds are 50/50 y'all done give money to Yankees!

    That did make us look at buying foreign cars from another angle.

    No way would my Dad buy a Japanese car. When I was 20, with no credit, he refused to co-sign a note for me to buy a Datsun.

    Then he died, leaving Mother his Ford pickup. She drove it a few years, and then bought a Dodge Colt, made in Japan by Mitsubishi. She drove the Colt until it was near death, and donated it to a charity. I doubt Dad would have approved.

    Her next car was a Saturn, an actual American car. Dad would have been pleased.

    She is currently driving a Toyota, a real Japanese car, but made in the USA. I wonder what Dad would have said about that.

    I doubt if there is a car company that does not get parts off shore or from a supplier in the US owned buy a off shore company .
    Honda build the cars here ( and around the world ) but also has countless suppliers in the USA they may be owned by a Asian company also ( and yes a % of the money goes back to there home land ) but parts are being made by USA citizens supporting there families . then include the sub suppliers the trucking, rail road , car dealers , mechanics , all have jobs due to them that would not have

    I fear long gone are the days of all american cars and many other products
    I cheer Trump on every time he forces the hand to build here in the USA [^]
