    I like most of Johnny Paycheck?s stuff too, but this one stinks too much for me. He claims it was a Church so I have to assume he was singing about Christians. I don?t know enough about ?religion? to like or dislike anything about that, but you would have to search long and hard to be treated that way at a Christian Church.

    Well then in your search, don't look at any of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (Mormon) churches. They actually excommunicate (kick out) members that break their rules...[V][V][V]

    Let's not forget the inquisition's, southern baptist churches sanctioning slavery... Need I go on? A book could be wrote about the atrocities committed by Churches in the name of God... And I truly believe these atrocities are what Johnny Paycheck is singing about

    Now mind you, I am Christian, but I don't believe in any Religion. Religion is made to scam people out of money...

    I believe Mister Lytle AKA Johnny Paycheck was giving his true opinion of Christians, probably based on hearsay, movies like Footloose and some outright lies.

    A Church survives by expanding its membership. You don?t expand your membership running people off. It?s one of the responsibilities of the Church to feed and clothe the poor.

    I assume you are talking about the Crusades, witch trials, and emancipation. I don?t understand anybody criticizing the Crusades without bothering to find out the reasons and history of the Crusades. The other ?atrocities? involved Christians and non-Christians on both sides. Just people of the time practicing politics as best they understood it.

    There are some bad people running some bad Churches. I don?t trust any preacher who owns more than one airplane and/or a boat that requires a crew to get underway, but these Churches are even less likely to run off potential sources of income.

    Oh yeah, I firmly believe the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob and His Son Jesus Christ know the bad churches and their administrators better than you or I and He will deal with them. I?ll answer for me and only me and I have plenty to answer for.
