I am at Bowman?s Seafood at Carolina Beach getting ready to order an Oyster Shrimp and Scollop plate. I wasn?t gonna eat any bread but they put a basket of hot hush puppies on the table and I had inhaled one before I knew what was happening. [:0][:p]

I am jealous.
I am in Atlanta which is hell on earth IMO. I had a bad day with my dad who has dementia. I am also dealing with DeKalb Co.
I could not eat anything, my stomach is turning upside down due to stress.
Enjoy your Chow!0 -
I agree with your strategy Ricci. I love (good) hush puppies but when I?ve got shrimp coming I don?t want to take up valuable belly space with bread or anything else. 0 -

I love hushpuppys but I try to only eat 1 or 2. The reat I bring home to my dogs, I even ask for more to go so I can give them to my dogs.
My 2 Golden ret's love them and will do anything I ask to get one. Jack who weighs 110# and is the biggest Golden I have ever had will jump higher than my head to get a hush puppy. My other dog Chip howls for them. He sounds like a hound dog howling. All I have to do is show one to him and tell him to sing.........and he starts howling.0 -
I think hush puppies must be dog cocaine. Hush puppies were invented by the Brits back when fox hunting was legal in England. When they were getting ready for the hunt all the puppies wanted to go with them. It was a pain in the butt and time consuming to separate out the puppies and get them back in the dog lot. They used hush puppies to keep the puppies quiet, hence the name hush puppies. 0 -
James, after a day or two the grease starts oozing out of them and you understand why they are not very good for you[;)]
To My dogs they are crack. I think they like them better than bacon or fried chicken skin[:D]0 -
Hush Puppies,Bacon, Fried Chicken Skins. Oh God this moment will go into the history books and rivel when Alexander G Bell called to Watson and the telephone was discovered. We should decide the best way to combine the three. Crumble the bacon into the hp mix and wrap the skin around the hp after it?s fried?? We should apply for some government grant money. We need to tie it to climate change somehow. This is gonna be huge!!! 0 -

I think that could be done. It?s the same principle as crackling (silent ?g?) cornbread. When you render the lard out of pork fat you have the little chunks of fried fat left over we used to call cracklings. Mama used to put some of them in her cornbread batter and called it ?crackling cornbread?. It was probably instant heart attack, but it sure was good.0 -
