    Lived nearly under the McConnell approach path for two years. We sat out in the front yard and watched the planes fly over during the air show.
    GF's boys, 4 and 7, got the biggest kick out of the B17 going over low and slow.

    a classmate friend of mine had just gone thru AF basic and was stationed as McConnell as an AP...when the secret plane flew in with a hydraulic problem ..i believe in 1964?...described it and the problem and how it was repaired....did not find out till many years later it was an SR-71....anyway back then i went down to the yard store on E Central (surplus) for something and there were these big boxes in the yard by the south door..lid was loose on one so i looked ..brand NEW Allison V-12 engines...WOWSER..cannot remember the price back then ???

    Yeah Salinas had their air show this past weekend. Heard one a day coming out of Monterey. Didn't go look because I didn't do nuffin this weekend.
