2015 Camaro
I have a neighbor that has a 2015 Camaro. Last week he hit a raccoon with it. $2500.00 damage. Broke that plastic part that apparently comprises the whole front of the car. Fine piece of junk those things must be.

My work rail is a 2007 Ford focus.
Two years ago, I hit a raccoon, dead center of car, at 4am on the way to work. Didn't think much of it,
Until 1/2 he later, car starts overheating, then, before I can even get pulled over on the shoulder, the radiator burst.
That da#960;m coon broke the entire front clip, and bent my radiator into a V, along with the cross brace under it.
Apparently my car was constructed out of aluminum foil.0 -
Whole front of mine is like that 2014 Cruze. Trust me I'm dodging everything. 0 -
It's all about weight, so the manufacturers can meet the mandatory fuel requirements.

remember when you could hit just about anything doing 50 mph in you old chevy , olds , big ford LTD maybe just maybe ding the bumper but the driver died [:D]
like stated all about gas millage and crumple zones lighter weight tin foil thick metal and countless pounds of plastic and aluminum and add in the crumple zones to protect the passengers .
just not made to survive any crash
I hit a deer just caught it right front with my wife element shifted the front end and for the most part totaled the front clip 8,500 to repair that was 4 years ago0 -

Got hit head on in my '55 Mercury by a drunk going the wrong way on a 30mph one way street. Got mine to a full stop before he hit me with a mid-late 80's GMC Sprint. Had a football shaped and sized dent in the center of my front bumper. His radiator was shoved back against the front of the engine block. Everything from the front bumper to the doors was bleened up. I don't know how he even got the drivers door open after the collision.0 -
Being cars cost about 10x more than the early 70's that would be a 250 fender bender back then. 0 -

When I retired 4 years ago I was making 32.5 times the amount I was making in 1970 so a car that cost 10 times what they cost in 1970 ain't that bad of a deal for me.0 -

Hit one on my Harley. Lucky I wore my Steel toe work boots that day. Hit that thing with my left foot. It was dead on impact. Almost took me off the bike.0 -

Last week I hit a large raccoon doing about 50mph in my 2006 Toyota Tacoma.
I felt as if I drove over a slight speed bump. The person behind said it was epic.

Reminds me of one time I ran over a live skunk. I wonder if the skunk landed on the car behind me? That would've been epic [:D]. I like to imagine them trying to sweep it off with the wipers. As the stank flooded the cab.0
