Got my exercise for the day or week?
I was cutting out from work when a kind and sharp eyed feller let me know I had a flat. By the looks of it I know side walls got little road action before I parked her. Took out the foot pump and put in 20+ pounds and drove to a gas station. I know I should've put in at least 30 but I got all tuckered out. Put in 36 pounds and drove to a tire shop.
Did you know tire shops don't sell used tires? Well the one I went do didn't. Legality? They were helpful in offering me a $100 tire with the works but no warranty. While at the shop I saw that the tire held air. Got home and took the tire off and there was the culprit. A screw [V]. Since the tires needs to be replaced the screw didn't mean much.
Took out the string patch and the first tube of rubber cement was dry. It's been a while since I used it last but I had a new tube since I was smart enough to keep a back up. Started to use the foot pump again but I broke it. The pin that pushes the bellows ripped the thin sheet metal and done. When one needs a shopping carts that's clogging the sidewalks away from the store suddenly is no where to be found one wonders if god is jacking with you.
So I could've rolled it down a block like a kid but I chose to hand cart it. I know it would be hilarious seeing a 6'3" Japo rolling a tire on the sidewalk like "Lenny". After all I am in Steinbeck country.
Found out my local Chevron charges for air if you didn't buy fuel that day. $1.50 [:0][:0][:0]. So now I got to get air/water weather I need it or not in the future until I feel I got my $1.50 worth [:D].
Also found out I live in a relatively safe 'hood. The floor jack left under the lifted 9C1 was still there when I got back. I know at 0930 most criminals would still be sleeping.
Never had I had so much issues with this set of tires. Valve stems crapping out and another nail earlier this year. The tire got the off the rim patch up and the valve stem replacement could've bought a new tire.
So we'll see if my fix fixed it. Otherwise I get to call in to work that my car is sick.
Lunch time poll. Should Yosh buy a set of new tires at $700 or pay his property tax on time? Now property tax is due on the 10th and pay day is on the 5th. Christmas bonus come out on the 15th. Now remember I could have a blow out before the 5th. How exciting [:0][:0][:0].

I have not looked for a while but there use to be tire shops that sold just used tires . also recycle ( junk ) yards even some day to day new tire shops keep nicer looking tires when customer's put new ones on ( if you ask ) some will not advertise it they want to sell the new ones

There are only 2 service stations where I live that do not charge for putting air in your tires. 0 -

another thought for later on you may want to pick up one of the rechargeable jumper boxes prices and sizes all over the place . they have a air pump and ports to run / charge you phone laptop
I have one I bought a few years ago come in handy
just keep it charged up about once a month or right after you use it
even with a 60 gallon air compressor and the portable air tanks around here the jumper box still great to "rescue a buddy " or have with you0 -
Find a place that sells used tires, and replace the one that's bad. This should hold you until you are ready to shell out $700.00 for a new set of tires.
Around here, there are several tire shops that specialize in used tires. I usually buy them for $30.00 to $40.00 dollars mounted, balanced and put on the car. They come with a 30 day warranty.

go get a simple 12v air compressor and splice in an extension cord to reach all around a bigger vehicle and ...a plug kit to fix on the go .... 0 -
+1 on the plug kit, can get them anywhere, auto parts, wally world, less $5 cheap and easy fix for nail/screw holes 0 -
Just buy a new car, they come with new tires, no money down and 5 years to pay; problem solved! [:D] 0 -
+2 on the tar strip plug kit (with the T handles) and a 12 volt compressor. I've fixed tires while still on the car. For larger holes, use 2 strips. I've had them hold for 30,000+ miles until the tire wore out. Oh, I never use the glue. 0 -

You live in Mexifornia, so you should know there is a used Mexican-ran tire shop every other block! Find one, and buy a tire for $30 or less, and ask them to throw in mounting it too. They will, most likely! Then save up the money to get a new set.

I keep a can of Fix-A-Flat in my truck for those slow leakers I seem find after doing a dump run. Works well enough to get me home to the sticky string and air compressor. 0 -
Well made it to work and the tire is holding air. kind a sort a worried about the side wall going "POOF".
My kit for years has been the jack, foot pump and the push plug kit. What the kit can't fix I'll need a tow so why carry a full size spare taking up valuable space? Now that I'll be shopping for a new pump since I broke the foot pump. My cigarette lighter hole is blocked by the center console so maybe a pump that clips on to the battery? Then again a foot pump is like $15 [:D].
Do "Fix-A-Flat" go bad? I found a can that's been in the trunk for years. Okay maybe decade by the ways of 15 years or more [:D].0 -

Recently I needed 4 tires for a Jeep Grand Cherokee. Priced a set of 4 at area shops. JESUS WEPT! $800 mounted and balanced. That is about half what the Jeep is worth!
Checked Wallyworld. 4 23565R17, mounted and balanced,$280. Good traction and speed ratings, good customer reviews on that tire. Been driving 2 months, I like them.

I don't think WalluWorld in my town sells tires. Too bad I didn't see this before I went there today.
