Sometime in a distant future I will be a proud owner of the Springfield Armory M25 "WhiteFeather". $5,000.00 and the tax/DROSS on that will be $461.00 [:0][:0][:0]. I paid for good guns that cost less than this tax.
For the first time ever I'll try and sell a few guns to finance this.
I will not just eat Top Ramen for a while but I believe it will be longer than any time before. I will also find things in the pantry I didn't know I had. What will I find? Who knows. But I will eat it [:D][:D][:D][:D].
Food poisoning, loss of weight and MADNESS will ensue. Perhaps I'll die before ever taking her out to the range. Yes it'll be that long to get her out. But I will have a unique M25. I should really find out how many they produced?

Yosh, I have often wondered about the few folks who have laid their money down for a new Blazer? GunBroker Auction side is crammed full of them and their accessories. Very rarely do I see an actual bid.
I would be very careful when you get to the back shelves of canned goods that are swelling up and have changed form from round cans into pregnant looking metal with stretch marks![:D]

I'm from the Mid-West, most of us don't operate that way, which is why we are often offered jobs in California.
The only thing(s) I've bought that I couldn't afford were houses and vehicles.

I have a plain Jane "Loaded" Stainless barrel M1A I bought new and have maybe a hundred rounds through it. The 1500 I paid for that 15 years ago was the most I ever spent on a Gun at that time and come to think of it may still be.0 -

Ramen Noodles with a handful of fined diced Crimini mushroomes, some slivered onion, some EVOO, a shot of Tabasco or Siriracha is quit good.
I'd say some diced chicken as well, but you may be adding Vienna sausage or [xx(] Potted meat.

my youngest son just bought a springfield socom , fun to shoot and lighter than mine
I wanted a M!A for many years just had a issue with the prices just could not bring myself to spending the money and lack of it most of my life [:0]
then bit the bullet and bought a Springfield enhanced version about 10 years ago , and its still the most I have ever spent on a gun
no real serious shooting see what kind of accuracy I can get out of it but happy with it0 -

I don't think there's anything to fix. Unless I don't get 1/2" M.O.A. out of the box. Maybe if the 3.5-10 power ain't enough. My eyes are getting old.

I think the originals came in a wooden transit and accessories chest like the British enfield "t" type sniper rifles and their later .308 arsenal converted variants
The French sniper rifle built on the MAS 36 bolt action platform had a similar set up for storage and transport and accessories
Neither of my examples have the transit chests or supplementary gear

Took a few guns in to see what the value of them might be. Took in the Khar K40 my take will $560 (I'll come ahead since I got a 7 round magazine and a Harrt's recoil reducer with the magazine somewhere). Took in the new in the boxes of GSG but I'd lose too much on those (almost buy one get one free for them).
Took in the Marlin 1895 GS just to see. My take would've been $880. I'd make a couple of hundies but I'm not desperate. And I got crap load of lead so I can't let her go. Yeah that's a good reason [:D].
Another "just see" was the High Standard Supermatic Citation "7" Space Gun" with the weights and the muzzle brake with the muzzle brake carbon scraper. Took along 7 other barrels I collected along the way. They thought couple of grand but they needed to do comp pricing. This I have mixed feelings. Love the gun but the cash is better. Then I'm kind a fearful some internal "thing" might brake and I won't be able to find that bit. We'll see if they offer me stupid prices that I'd be stupid to pass up [:D].
I should've taken "Lindsay" Kimber CDP II I kind a put in crap ton of time getting Kimber to fix her. Then a stack of Wilson magazines (those ain't cheap) and they're too short for my other 1911s. I suppose if my take would be a grand I might do it. Sell off the wilsons and bits I put on (but I'll have to locate the take off bits). Again I'm not desperate to make a payment. But just in case I'll look for the odd bits [:D].
It would be great if I can finance this buy by selling off few of my guns. Khar might as well be gone since I did the paper work $560. If they offer my take for the High Standard as $2000/$2500 I'd be stupid to say no to that. I think I'd let Lindsay go for a grand back in stock formation and sell off the bits online. I'll mull that over Lindsay. That should give me time to locate the take off bits.
If they knew how they could paper my AR and AK pistols (I'm in California). I would've thought the pistols having locked magazines they should be good to go? I imagine those two would pay for my WhiteFeather.
All in all productive day. But I could look for the bits and make it a "Super Duper" productive day [:D].0 -
If you got the cash and it won't hurt, cool.
