Mileage gain after R&R of IAC and TPS
I got 3 MPG gain from 15 MPG (that's 18 MPG [:D]). With me toeing her kind a hard. I need to go through the old fuel up receipts and see when she started to lose MPG. I reckon with the IAC stuck extended ran her rich.
Back when I got her initially with 113K miles I was getting 19/20 miles mixed and 25+ miles highway pushing 80+ [:D]. I reckon if I did the posted speed I'd get 19/20 MPG mixed. But with de-tuned LT-1 pushing out 260 horses in a two tons of fun. Is fun [:D].
I tried to see if I could adjust the TPS to lower the idle but it's not adjustable. I have to take out some off the Throttle Stop set screw. I need the ratcheting closed wrench and a long enough screw driver tip for this task.
Since I have to make that adjustment I think I'll Seafoam or B-12 the intake manifold. I need to scout out a patch of empty property to make the Seafoam "fog" without the fire department showing up.

I can honestly say, the IAC is problematic(an understatement). 0 -
when i was just out of high school a friend bought a new 409 supersport ...would pour a big wad of oil in the carbs and take off and the south half of town would disappear in the fog...actually more than the city's bug fogger... 0 -

Heck! My old '61 Mercury Meteor would do that without having to put oil in the carb![:0][:0][:)]0 -
