Good Idea Or Bad

I am limited in space to 1 wall in 1 bedroom for all my guns and ammo.

My ammo is in military ammo cans. I was wondering how bad it would be to dump all my 22 ammo in 2 or 3 ammo cans. Almost all 22 ammo is federal.

I was thinking about doing that with pistol ammo and others.

Good or bad idea?

    And you wonder why I'm single.

    But to answer your question. Keep in mind that even from the same manufacturer, there is variations in the loads and the primers etc etc from lot to lot. If you are using your ammo for match Use , or for long range shooting, I don't think I would do it.

    If you're using it for target practice and you don't care if you get some flyers, or a mixture of ammo that shoots a little bit High mixed in with ammo that shoots a little bit low, I don't see the big deal

    You don?t really need a dresser. Get rid of it and pile your clothes under the bed.
    Voila! More room for ammo.

    Might consider keeping the mostly full boxes in tact and just dumping odds and ends together.

    When I start into a box of ammo I put an "x" on it and work that box till it's empty. That way I only have one or a few partial boxes going in each caliber.

    She is right though i do have a whole lot of stuff. Plus she tries to keep the house nice. So i understnd what she is saying.

    She told me that i could not have any more room for my stuff and i brought home 2 gun safes from my Dad. I put the small one in my house and the other one in my shop.

    The new house has a 400 sq foot bonus room that my lovely bride has allowed me to have my way with.

    Currently there are four safes at one end a few of the larger rifles staged on the floor and ammo cans lining the walls.

    It has only been 3 months, and I am still looking into proper storage that is a little more attractive. Any ammo in original packaging will remain in original packaging, particularly .22 LR and .22 Mag. Some of the pistols seem to operate better with certain brands/loads. I would not want to mix things up for that reason.

    Not good. If they're in a box keep them in the box. If you "gum balled" it you won't know the crappy lots are in the mix.
