Japan will quit IWC

I wonder if this will bring back "Whale Wars"? I so do want the Japos to fire back when fired upon. Then ask the morons "do you require assistance?" after the Japos blow a big ass hole on their ship below the water lines [:D].

I suppose the New Star Trek can remake Voyage Home as the 4th movie?

    Recently someone asked me which super power I would choose if I could and I said time travel. They asked why and I said so I could go whale hunting.


    Of course this begs the question. To dispatch a wounded whale at close range would you prefer a 1911 45 ACP or a Glock in 9mm???

    I am kind of with you on that I really see no reason for killing Whales. The Japs say it for research but in reality they just want to meat so they can chow down on the whale meat. I feel the same way about slaughtering sharks for their fins and leaving the shark to die a slow death.

    Don't get me wrong I am no tree hugger but there are things we really should not do.

    I don't really begrudge eskimos or other natives hunting whales because they have a low impact on the whale population.


    I have watched Whale wars and IMO both parties were in the wrong.

    Back in the mid 70's and early 80's I worked at a chemical plant that was bought out by the Japanese while I worked there.

    We would get in truck loads of sperm whale oil in 55 gal. drums used to produce various products. Pretty sure that they are not killing whales for study purposes![:(!][V]

    Strange that anything that happened in the 1800's was the fault of white men. We know there were no other races in that time period.

    Even when the natives ran 300 bison off a bluff for their tongues and humps, they had little impact on 30 to 60 million bison. The white mans guns reduced them to well under 1000 in less than 100 years. And yeah a few of the white men were black.

    I have generally found Horse Plains Drifter knows whereof he types.

    JasonV - I doubt either round would get far enough to the brain (even through the eye ball or the ear hole). I wonder if those rounds could drown them in their own blood through the blow hole.

    Sam06 - No longer flying under the "research" banner, nice and honest. Rejoining countries like Iceland and Norway (most folks forget they never stopped hunting whales). Japan might have to take up clubbing baby seals.

    As for the sharks getting finned. I'm kind a surprised there's still sharks in the oceans. I mean when China came in to money few years back I was sure they would've made a sea of wigglers of them all. Instead they went with other animal bits.

    I think Trump may have given them the idea to straight up hunt whales. World be damned. Make Japan Great Again.

    I still would love to get a Ushanka made out of white baby seal.
