thank goodness I do not live closer

wife got off work early yesterday so we made a trip to a some waht local goodwill clearance center ( about 30 miles or so one way ) best I can call it. they dump tables full of stuff and just shove it out to the waiting crowds ( about 6 or 8 large wheeled table/ tubs at at a time and about 10 or 12 rows of table lines + a lot of large floor items
looks like black Friday sale about every 1/2 hour [:D] when they roll out another reloaded set of tables
I did get a nice craftsman circular saw in a case ( 3.00 )
two grass trimmers one a cub cadet 4 stroke ( missing the spool head but started and ran great ) and a weedeater feather lite also 3.00 each + a assortment of odds and ends I found a stack of 6 or 7 craft paper books for my wife 5.00 for the stack each one had a 20.00 store retail tag on it . a couple more dog blankets cant leave them out .
I know people who go every day they sell there finds on line ( some list them as they find them ) at flea markets and 2nd time around stores .
sorta fun never know what will come out next like a never ending yard sale is the best way to describe it .
I did find two 5.56 30 round magazines a few months back 1.00 each the only gun related Item I have ever seen there .
I have also bought 7 maybe 10 file cabinets to help orginize my shop 5.00 to 10.00 each
I can see how some are hooked on going all the time

    I hit it once in a while for the electronics. nobody else knows what it is or what to do with it! but I do. bwa ha haaaa.
    let the mob take the rest of it.

    scored a Dell ADA995 200 watt subwoofer for the computer system. it's shaped like a computer tower. it rocks [:D]

    I really do not know about a lot of what is a "hot item selling"
    guns and cars are more my line I guess I will have to study up some
    but from the few times I have been there most all the "core group know each other well " and all seem to specialize
    electronics seem to be horded by about four stereo, phones cameras , any thing with a cord ,the same gang go for them
    purses and jewelry by a couple gals ,
    odd to me shoes by many of them must be a great item to sell
    .golf clubs by a few . but I see them grabbing items for each other than passing /trading off on the side lines . majority grab any thing they can make some ( lot ) money on . see them checking auction prices on thew cell phones as they grab a item
    its fun just to watch the people diving and elbowing /pushing grabbing at the same item . they have cracked down and toss some out for the day for getting to rough or grabbing items befroe they signal go [:0][:0][:0]
    like I said its a fun way to kill a afternoon or day and cost almost nothing most items sell for 30 cents a pound some 50 cents a pound or they will just give a price on large item but its cheap
    the old timers been going for years tell me at one time super nice / new items come thru often but not so much now but then they started a on line auction site and I will bet the items are cherry picked and tossed on the sites

    people know what phones, stereos and cameras are, I'm talking about gizmos that use USB, wifi and stuff. like what the ??? is this?? there has been stuff that I didn't even know what it was until I got home and looked it up.

    yep, same thing with the storage auctions. they won't tell anybody but we all knew the stuff was cherry-picked by the management before the auction started.

    Love to browse the second hand stores like goodwill. Never know what you'll find. Bought a "new" desk chair last year for $5.00, probably paid too much.

    Overseas "second hand stores" don't exist where I live. If they do exist they'd be as rare as a "Car Crusher in Cuba".

    Several years ago I stopped at a second hand store in our town and found twenty five 30 round mags for an AK. They were marked $1 each. The clerk asked me what they were, so I told her half jokingly that they were high capacity magazines for an AK 47 assault rifle.

    I kid you not, she let out a shriek and yelled "Get those things out of here!" I replied that I would take them all. She would not take any money for them stating that "We can't sell things like that! Just take them out of here!"

    It was the craziest thing, she acted like she would die if she even touched them. I gave some of them away on here in a give away.
