    I once spent two days with a 'host family' while on a Rugby tour. The town was Barnsley and it is deep in the heart of Yorkshire, England, UK.

    I didn't understand a single word said by our hosts.

    Years later I was reading about the sport of 'ferret legging', in Outdoor magazine. Ferret legging is a contest where the contestant binds the ankles of his trousers, a ferret is dropped down his pants, the belt tightened and the contestant who lasts the longest, wins.

    The locale? Barnsley. Sure made sense to me.

    We had a civilian worked for the contractor at Sinai south camp that is from the Highlands. Most of the US military contingent would come to me to translate for them.
