I get a few gun\shooting magazines from various membership affiliations that used to come in nice vanilla envelopes.

Over the last few years to save $ all have gone to those darn sticker thingys that keep a magazine closed without an envelope.

All the folks in the mail department in my area seem to enjoy cutting the stickers, reading the mags and getting them delivered to me in what I call USED condition!![:0]

Most around here are God fearing, gun loving type people. And that includes the USPS employees![:)]

Couldn't that be considered tampering with the mail? As in a felony?

I'm a rural carrier. I don't write on peoples stuff. I doubt it was anybody in that particular office. More likely someone in a facility further up where they're sorted.

I've been in postal maintenance (electronics technician) for the past 16 years. Retiring in October. And a former elected official in the American Postal Worker's union. Also a 4 year veteran of the US army, NRA member, a Trump voter and supporter, and owner of multiple firearms. As are most of the maintenance craft, and a large number of clerks, mailhandlers, and carriers I know. I don't personally know any rural carriers, so I can't speak for them. I know very few "liberal leftists" in the processing center I work in, or any of the associate offices and stations I had anything to do with. Of course, east coast processing centers more closely resemble the demographics of Detroit or east St Louis, so there is a difference demographically.

There are a few flaming liberals, of course. But it's been my experience that Las Vegas processing center is pretty conservative. Whether or not the writer of that message was actually a postal worker is impossible to determine. Just as likely someone who wanted his 15 minutes of attention.

It's easy to talk crap about that about which you know nothing. But then knowing nothing never stops the post office bashers, the California bashers, and the "I'll never need a union" no benefits no retirement questionable wages drones and assorted office boys who are jealous of union wages/benefits but can't bring themselves to be honest with themselves.

And by way of full disclosure, the union I was elected into position in did a LOT of things I disagreed with. But I did my level best to minimize the bulls*** from both my side and management's side. I didn't have to file a grievance for the last 5 years in my position, because I could rationalize both sides of a contract disagreement to the satisfaction of all parties. I had the respect of my members and management alike.

    Let the S***talking begin.

This delivery person would/should get a reprimand or at least a letter of warning in his/her personnel folder.
I seriously doubt a Postal Inspector would "waste his valuable time" to follow up on this. I've reported far worse to the Inspection Service and got no more than a phone call telling me to "take care of it".

The Post office should be disbanded - like anything it is a once critical government service that failed to stay relevant and now simply bleeds money every year while the private sector competition manages to turn record profits.

If you have important mail - send it Fed Ex or UPS.

What does the USPS and Payless shoes have in common?

1000's of black and brown loafers.

"now simply bleeds money every year while the private sector competition manages to turn record profits."

You do realize that USPS IS NOT ALLOWED TO MAKE A PROFIT AND DOES NOT USE TAX DOLLARS TO OPERATE? The entire funding of USPS comes from it's customers. In addition, USPS is REQUIRED to provide equal service to EVERY address within the US AND it's territories plus anyplace there's a significant military deployment.
There's still a significant segment of the population who don't use electronic communication or "online ANYTHING". Your opinion is certainly not the opinion of those folks or the soldier 10,000 miles from home who can send a letter to his family(in some cases FREE).
