    amazing condition heck I would just like to have the money to be able to bid on it
    have to watch see what the hammer down price will be


    my FFL buddy many years ago had a GS and set up at all the larger Gun shows . and told me he had a singer 1911 he had picked up along the way
    another dealer hounded him until he gave in and sold it to him .
    he has told me he still gets that sick feeling in his stomach when one come up for sale now and the price they bring [:0][xx(]

    Registered mail....or overnight would be the only way I'd do it. Overnight has a $5,000 limit on insurance, but its seriously doubtful anything could potentially happen if it went that way. Buyers choice!

    I would guess same way high end guns get shipped every day or art work jewelry coins to name a few
    I am sure your insurance carrier would have some rate for a three day shipping coverage ... now collecting may be a different story

    Wow, and to think I used to carry one as a young US Army MP back in the late 70?s.

    I also carried a Winchester later on, but most were Colts & Springfield?s that were issued out of Arms Rooms.

    The gunshop owner - my boss and mentor and friend...

    He had one - all original and correct but a tad beat up and barracks worn - won it in a poker game from the states top coroner...

    To my knowledge the gun was not properly stored or cleaned after his death and it deteriorated greatly.

    I made multiple attempts to stop the bleeding and place it in an auction but got nowhere.

    Bothers me to this day.

    Nope, can't do a face to face exchange in a state where you are not a resident. Has to ship FFL to FFL.

    But doesn't that beg the question about 'shipping'? If the USPO or FedEX can 'ship' a firearm without owning it, why couldn't the winning bidder act as his own shipper and deliver it safely to his FFL for transfer?

    I asked that question once. The seller (guy at Cabela's) told me it had to be a recognized or licensed shipper. Maybe it was BS. I didn't bother to check.

    Take a copy of the FFL with you. You are acting as his agent to pick it up.????

    Just some thoughts...

    --If you could pick it up you pay state sales tax.

    --Could Turnbull make one exactly like that? Any chance of it being fake? I guess if no one can tell then what's it matter.

    --With the way the market is going, someone could get buyer's remorse before the auction closes.

    I realize that gb will help the buyer against a fraudulent purchase, but with the seller selling the gun "as-is", might make a feller think twice about spending that kind of $$. At least this feller would..
