New tires

Got me some new skins for the Tacoma. I went with Yokohama Geolander MT G003?s (265 75 16) for 198.00 each. I bought them from a local shop in the little town of Perryopolis, Pa.

    Well, about 2 weeks ago, I finally got around to put a new set of all season tires on my old KIA Sportage. Old ones still had lots of tread, but have been on the car since the beginning of 2012.

    I noticed one of the new tires was losing air pressure a few days ago with a slow leak. Took it back to the tire store and they found I had picked up a nail!![:(]

    They repaired it for no charge of coarse but I sure do wish they would have replaced it!! Starting out with a repaired new tire does not sit very well with me.

    Have run all over the place with the old tires and NEVER any problems.
    Then this happens with less than 100 miles on the new ones. Sure hope my luck changes soon!

    Just venting. Not quite a rant yet, but maybe after another cup of coffee.

    Yep, but then again ya used to get paid less per hour than a candy bar cost now...

    Co-worker runs Geolanders. Gets them for 50% off cuz his uncle works at the Yokohoma Plant (Mohawk) in Salem.

    you be right...trying to remember what a big Snickers (the king of candy bars) cost back in the late 1950's...had a glass front candy case in the service station...with big oatmeal cakettes, sacks of salted peanuts to put in RC cola and bottles of chocolate milk in the pop machine

    in the late 60's i bought a used 1952 3 window chevy pickup without a mark on it from the local Ford dealer for $250 (wish i still had it) ...last spring i put new Michelin tires and and alignment check on a Honda Pilot at just over $1000
