I must be getting old.....

Have the day off, and things that I want to try and get done outside. Wanting to wire in some back up and work lights on my truck. Clear and sunny outside, and a measly 25 degrees. Think I'll sit here and have another cup of coffee and let it warm up a bit. I used to be full of ambition and not worry about the weather. But as the days grow on me things don't work as well in the cold as they used too. Let's see now, some Bailey's or Kahlua in this cup....[;)]

    Got a new set of headlights for the truck sitting here have to wire in the led lights in the new housing. It may not get done today.

    Cold here, cooled down across the day and hovered at freezing this PM.

    Figured if I got a good running start I could get some stuff done though. Got my running start cleaning up from last evening?s mess, cleaned out the fridge did the dishes, cleaned the fireplace and got a new fire going. Wife got up while I was still cleaning.

    Was about to go outside when a friend called and was picking up mail from the gun club and coming over for some things, figured out some things when he came by, showed my wife his new sig 365. She liked it! Easy slide for her to rack.

    The momentum from the small stuff paid off because I did go out and split and stacked oak for about 3 hours. Momentum and the Black Rifle Coffee!

    I have noticed I lack the ambition no matter the weather I have enough projects some I would dearly love to finish and just maintenance ( up keep ) to keep me busy for two lifetimes . maybe that why I am not so driven to jump in some days I know there will always be more

    I think its some what funny now 35 / 40 years ago I remember my FIL ( RIP ) had a lot of loose end repairs and projects around his place and he would chip away at a hour or two some days some days all day other's not so much [:D]
    when younger I did not understand his lack of interest or drive to complete or what seemed to me a have too project waiting
    I knew he was a hard worker all his life ,, now I have finally figured it out if I get done great if not I will die off and some one else will have to take over until they can pass them on [:D][:D][:D]
    what seemed like have to get done takes a back seat to just kicking back and enjoying the day even if just relaxing ..
    I am not 100% there my conscious will not let me just walk away but I am trying to convince it ..

    Just got back from 20 days in Fluvanna County in Virginia. Tore out wall next to chimney,replaced well cover on 2nd well on back lot, fixed chimney leak and cleaned up 3 acres(leaves and trash from trees). I think for me at 75 and most of us our minds say yes,yes and our bodies say no,no.

    Promised Dad before he passed in 2011 I would take good care of his place so I just keep on plugging.

    Most days it?s hard to start a project, but I find that once I start I can get after it. It?s just too easy to think about it and not really get a start.

    About a -8 here today with a breeze. I am old but not stupid, I stayed inside. Whatever few parts that still work (which are damn few) I don't need to kill them off just yet.

    I let my 75 year old brother run to the store for me today. He is up visiting from AZ . Good way to make sure he goes home again. [:D]

    i built two sheds many years ago primarily for machinery storage, about 5900 sq/ft....1600 sq/ft inside concrete, with car lift and small area enclosed /heat/ac for lathe, mill, drill and hyd presses, welder, torch and other tools for big projects..like to have a small heated/ac shop attached to the house now for hobby projects that i could get tools in and be convenient access to go in and out of without weather .....
