disappointed !?!?!

we sat down to watch a little TV and whizzed up a batch of popcorn.. small kernels and lots of hull to get out of teeth (yes we still have our own).....hadn't popped up any for a long time....NOW...way back in the 19780's when i ran my first irrigated circle i contracted with a buyer to raise popcorn...a variety of Ames large white theatre grade popcorn...large kernels with small hulls...GREAT TASTE..in fact that year i sold 240,000 lbs. of popcorn...glad i sold it or i would still be eating it which leads to the question of what brand/type/variety of popcorn can one buy now that is like the great stuff i raised...and could occassionaly enjoy with a movie ??????????? thanx

    Look for "movie theater popcorn" (that is the generic name) you'll find it here and there in "gourmet" type places, and I'm sure it online somewhere. That will be the same type as what you grew, and not the crappy commercial stuff you had!

    Isn't Orville Redenbacher still being sold in stores?? Always liked his popcorn and paid more for the privilege. [:p]

    We use about 3-4 tons of popcorn seed a year for our business. We have tried many different brands of popcorn.

    We find the best to be Weaver Caramel and Sweet. Another brand that comes very close is Reist.

    We buy in 50 lb bags not sure if you can get it in smaller sizes.
