    how many in the crew of a P-3? why have a 30 cup water heater? would it not be overkill for a crew of 5? you don't have a sit down banquet do you?

    1st one that broke the marines would have come up with a replacement part. They would have sent them to my Shop at Camp Pendelton and we would have done something. Not one of them would have been replaced.

    14 hour flights for a crew of 14. In the Arctic, sometimes we would have to make another pot of coffee during the flight.

    Yes, On deployments, we had sit down meals. We would get unprepared rations from the galley. We carried electric skillets and toasters. Me or one of the AW's would cook steaks, salmon, bacon and eggs, and fried chicken and fries were some of our meals.
    Three pilots and two flight engineers would rotate back to the galley and have their meals at the dining table (Our card table). Us tube rats could eat anytime we wanted, usually in transit. On station we'd be busting ass tracking our targets.

    In the States, we'd just stop at Subway and pick up some footlongs.

    This was my crew in VP-50. I'm the one in the leather flight jacket in the middle. SG-12 was our Beartrap bird that went down in the 91 San Clemente midair. RIP.
