History just keeps on repeating it's self. The US political system is as corrupt and incompetent as the Roman government was when they crashed and burned. Then as the situation worsened, civic pride waned and the Roman citizens lost trust in their leadership just like we have today. Morality went to hell just like it has here in this country.

You're right if the Republicans don't pick up seats Next month. Latest articles say 60% of people want Kavanaugh to be the next S.C. Justice if the FBI doesn't find some incriminating evidence.
33 senators are up for re-election in 2018, including 23 Democrats, two independents who caucus with Democrats, and eight Republicans.
If republicans can't pickup Senators with 25[D] vs 8[R], then it's all over.
If the republicans don't retain control of Congress, it's all over.
Congress Republican 236 / Democrat 193.
Lose both it will be semi_permanetly be over because the Majority of the Nation obviously prefers Democrats and their policy.0
