sitting here watching golf.......

and I gotta say, they can hit out of the trees/rough as good as fairway. I can't remember the last time I saw so many good shots from bad lies. guess thats what they get paid the big money for.....

    Was there Friday. Huge crowds and yes excellent golf by the pros- that's why only about 500 people in the world can make a living doing it-

    Actually about 2,000 just here in the US if you include the minor tours - and that's only the men. Granted, they aren't making bazillions, but they're making a living.

    The above does not detract from their skills, which I have also seen firsthand. They play golf on a quantum level above the rest of us.

    I LOVE golf. Used to carry a 13 handicap, and was fortunate enough to play St Andrews for 6 days straight.

    Some of the best naps I've ever had were taken while watching golf on TV.[:D]

    I love golf. Watching those guys play is an exercise in humility, knowing I can't do anything like that.

    I fully admit that turning the sound down a bit has allowed some wonderful afternoon naps. And when you wake up, it's hard to tell you missed anything. But you do wonder how many Gary McCord zingers went by...

    Like it or hate it but respect it. Several Like Gary Woodlawn are harden military supporters. AND guess what there was 75000 people there that day and no one was shot and no protesters demanding something.

    Yeah, The Old Course is a frickin BEAR! There were a few times when I was so deep in the bunkers that I couldn't see daylight.

    AWESOME trip! 6 days, two rounds of golf starting at 0800hrs, drinking until 0100hrs, back on the course at 0800 the next day.

    I did manage to birdie 18 in front of a large crowd though. Hit it 2 feet from the cup from the cart path that crosses the 18th fairway. Very cool.

    I haven't played a lot of golf over my almost 70 years on this planet but I sure do enjoy using those little white balls for .22 rimfire plinking & 200 yard high power targets. They take off really good when hit.[;)]
