Question: Would not the pistol over time become a magnet also. I worry about this cause would it not have the ability to foul the gun. Possibly to the point it would not fire.

To be magnetized to any meaningful amount it would need to be done on purpose with proper equipment .
MAYBE it's just me , but, the balance of your questions make no sense. " to foul the gun" to the point it won't fire??
OH.. ok you mean fouled with some kind of metallic material,, I really don't see any problem here , I have had a gun mounted this way for a number of years and it has never gotten fouled with anything to keep it from working, but a one in a million chance it might occur?? ok then maybe if all your stars are misaligned... any thing can happen.0 -
Ok I work around Metal all day. Anything that is even slightly Magnetized grows hair(metal). 0 -
Just don't shoot steel cased ammo.[:D]
Those magnets won't cause a problem, ever. Unless you regularly store your pistol in a stack of metal filings.0 -

He works in a machine shop, so if he comes home and gets changed beside the gun, there will be small particles in the air. over time, the "metal hair" may build up.0 -
Why would you want something that secures a gun but does not also cover the trigger? 0
