A Bat ?
Where i live i am surrounded by woods on all 4 sides. There is a 120 foot wide strip and about 200 foot deep area that we cleared for the house.
We have about 6 bats that fly our strip of cleared land eating bugs and mosquitos. I am not scared of them and i wish them no harm. While i was coming from my shop some would fly so close to me i could hear the wings flapping.
When i was a kid we would all throw things at bats and we could never hit them.
I was wondering if a shotgun would work. I think it would. However i could not hurt anything that eats mosquitos or gnats.
To make it harder what about a 22 rifle?

Or even better, hang a bunch of bat houses in the clearing, and even more bugs will be eaten. 0 -
They are not after you just all the bugs you are attracting.[:D] 0 -
In lots of states it's illegal to kill them. So a shotgun is probably not good to try.
We used to throw small apples up and they would sometimes dive and bite them. Right at dusk so you could see to try to catch it on the way down.0 -
Fly swatter works in my house. shotgun would probably work too. 0 -
We used to throw up a ball cap and they would swoop down on it and get Caught and tumble down to the ground .
They were weird looking things0 -
I have 2 bat houses down by my pond,,they do good at keep the skeeters down 0
