Sometimes I wonder where people get their values for items. I've seen it on auctions, at gunshows, personal sales (I had a person one time ask me if I would be willing to trade a steer I was selling for a goat!??) Another ask if I was interested in trading $300 worth of ammo for a Hi-Point. Both of those of course were a no! Jus don't understand where some get their numbers.

    They put their numbers in their favor and hope you are too dumb to know any better.

    I was selling 200 pounds of live rock and I got offered 1,000 rounds of AP .223 [:D]. Being in California I didn't wanna have AP.

    Well different folks do things differently. I will sometimes lowball but not to the extent of being insulting. Having said that one can always go up on an offer but seldom lower.

    You all have live rocks in California?? Damn i hope that doesn?t spread to the rest of the country. I would hate to have rocks jumping in front of my car. Oak trees are bad enough.

    Well, in their defense ........... EVERYBODY wants a killer deal so ridiculous offers are to be expected from some people. You just have to look at it as entertainment, ya know, stupid folks is real funny. [:D]

    Wanting a Killer deal is understandable. But, like on the goat for the steer. We weren't even close. I imagine maybe a $100 for the goat against over a grand (which Is what I got at auction) for the steer. I didn't need a goat at any price. But, people do get crazy. I was at a local auction where a guy bid up to about $400 for a pink camo Hi-Point for his wife. I hope she was happy, happy, happy.
