Went to the Raleigh Gunshow Sat

Wow were prices high!

I almost bought a single barrel 20ga. It was a Stevens the stock was cracked in 4 places the forarm was in bad shape and the barrel was rusty with the bead missing. I need the trigger guard because mine is missing and I cannot find one.

Price was $150

I offered $80

The best they would do was $135

I walked away and the came down to $125.


I said no thanks.

    I wonder if folks think the latest elections will tighten stuff down and are raising prices. Sure shouldn't impact single shot shotguns...I think the seller was a fool not to sell for $80

    Me 2. It was a dog and I think if it was mine I would rather have 4 $20 in my hand than have to box up a POS and carry it to another gunshow. Heck I would have gave him 40 bucks for the trigger guard off of it, it would not have hurt the value much[;)]


    When I say prices were high I mean I saw S&W M37's with 1K price tags. Single shot 22 rifles that looked like they had been at a BSA camp for 30 years with $200 on them. I saw a S&W M29-6 for $1200[:0] and Victory Model S&W's going for $900 wth???

    Ammo was pricy too. I think there are guys who didn't get the word you can buy 22lr again..........

    Plenty of Black tacticool guns not much steel and wood, that is what I look for.

    Tell us more about the trigger guard that you seek. I have a few and might have one that you could use.

    Sort of like my Visit to Cabela's. Went looking for A Kimber Micro 9 Raptor. right at $1,000. I can get one on the Auction side for right at $600.00.

    Used guns I'm not sure what they were smoking when they set those prices.[xx(]

    A $50 offer in that condition would have been a generous offer, my opinion only [:)]. Gunshows are dying a slow death brought on by themselves.

    To a lot of the old timers a gun show is more of a social event than a place to sell guns.If they sold their guns,they wouldn't have anything to put on the tables next show.They don't need the money anyway.

    Agree 100 percent. There are the guys that are selling the older stuff, and then there are the guys selling the newer black stuff. However, the older guys need to sell their wares, or they are going to possibly end up keeping it until the end...[:(]

    I bought a very good 12 ga. H&R 088 for $80 at an auction recently so I think the seller should have jumped on your first bid.
    As far as gun shows, I went to one on Sat. and the place was half empty. I did buy some Rem. Thunderbolts at $15 per brick and some S&B .303 ammo for $17/box. Was going to get some more tannerite but forgot to pick it up on my way out.
    Cost eight bucks to get in, so that should be included in a purchase.

    Yep, my opinion also. That sounds like a $30.00-$40.00 shotgun to me.
