quickcrete ,,how many bags ??

I have a small project I need some concrete in,, It is 6 inches wide,,6 inches deep,,by 12 feet long,, about how many bags would I need ??

    3 cubic feet. IIRC Quickrete comes 2/3 cu. ft. per bag.
    By that math you'd need 5 bags.

    Quikcrete here comes in 60 lb bags. Never seen 40, haven't seen 80 in years.

    ive ran into this problem several times. you calculate how much concrete you need by cu ft for small projects and then go to the big box store where they sell it in 40, 60, or 80lb bags. on some of the bags they do list it by volume but ive seen some that do not. PITA. i just try to estimate how many of the bags it willtake to fill my form and then add a couple extra. if i have left over i try and find a small place that might benefit from having a little concrete added. here in the deep south you dang sure cant store it very long

    Generally speaking, the 60# bag is 50% more than the 40# and the 80# bag is 2x.

    I used to handle 100 pound sacks of feed. Now, the 60 lbs. of ready mix kick my butt.
    Getting old sucks.

    I have a lot of experience with Quikrete. Do yourself a favor, get the 5,000 psi stuff in the red bag, the yellow bag stuff is of mediocre quality.

    I would get 4 80 lb. bags concrete and 1 80 lb. bag of mortar mix, I use a half bag of mortar mix to every 2 bags of concrete mix to richen the mixture. just me I like it to be more workable.
