My Driveway

Yours is much longer than mine. But Mine if you do not know how to drive it you can never leave.
And its at the worst part You can actually see the paved road. But if you do not swing to the left to make the right its too steep for even a 4wh drive. Tried staying to the right in both my GMC and my Wrangler and both could not make it. And that part is even paved.0 -

Now that's what I'd call living off the beaten path!!!! Beautiful, but encountering a vehicle headed in the opposite direction could get interesting depending on what point you were at on the road!!!! 0 -

No, you don't want to park an 18 wheeler at my house.
As I told my buddies, this driveway is more fun than a barrel of monkeys in January in 6 inches of fresh snow.
That is why I have a 4 WD Nissan Frontier pickup, and why I just paid $810 for a set of Nokkian Hakkepelliitta studded snow tires.
It is either studded tires or chains. Good God am I sick of putting chains on to drive this road.

I just bought the Nissan. Because my last one rusted out due to salt on the snow up here on the roads.
It is a 2010 and it is an automatic.
Looks like brand new, it has 40,000 miles and always garaged. I got it for $16K. What a deal! Of course, I looked for 10 months.0 -

Love it!! I live on a similar style road, on the steepest part, in the snow and ice once you go over the peak you are committed and just aim for the middle with the hope of slowing in time for the turn towards the bottom. It is quite exhilarating in the winter. When i had a Tacoma it had hill descent control and that took all the fun out of it! [:D] 0 -
FedEx and UPS will come up the road but they don't like it.
My neighbor at the bottom, I think the barn is visible in the video, he lives in the trailer, he lets FedEx and UPS deliver my stuff to the barn.
Still I am way way out in the woods.
I had the delivery of the four Nokian Hakkepelliitta studded snow tires a month ago. I knew from tracking that FedEx would deliver, and I was in town on that day.
So, that morning I drove in to town to get my absentee ballot. So I parked right before the court house. Small town.
And just before I got out of my Nissan, I noticed a FedEx driver in my rear view mirror.
All FedEx drivers wear that uniform with the distinctive blue/purple triangle on the sides.
So I knew right away he wasn't in an 18 wheeler you couldn't get one into my little town. Which meant he was a delivery driver.
In my rural county I figured, there was only one FedEx truck on any given day.
So I went over to the guy, he was just getting into his truck.
And I said "I think you have a delivery for me."
He said "What is it?"
I said "Four studded snow tires."
He let out a big gasp, and he said, "Thank God."
He didn't ask my address, he didn't ask for ID, he went inside the truck, opened the back door, and handed me the tires.
I know, he had my place plugged in to his GPS and he knew he had just saved a half hour. That would be if he delivered to the barn but with an $810 order he probably was going to drive up the drive way, in that event saved him 45 minutes total.0 -

If it's raining FedEx and UPS will frequently deliver my packages to the hardware store in town instead of driving down our muddy road. Works for me. 0
