    No experience here. My cousin has a 17 hmr and likes it but not the platform in the video, his is a bolt action.

    Semi auto has been a problem for the 17hmr in the past. I'm sure others have more info on the subject.

    This platform is gas operated, not blow back. That is why I ask the question.

    Not the GHD specifically but I do have an Alexander Arms in 17 HMR
    It is the wife's ground squirrel gun. It has been a great,reliable and accurate gun for her.She will put at least 700 rounds a day through it when we are on our hunts/shoots.
    The only issue we have had is it needs to be cleaned every few hundred rounds. LOL
    She complains about her fingers getting sore from loading magazines.

    The GFD is gas operated like the ar 15. Said it runs cleaner,
    less powder fouling etc. because of that. I am interested in
    hearing from someone who has experiance with one.
    Have a friend who has a volquartsen, it fouls and needs frequent
    cleaning.
