Recommend a reloading manual
I'm going send a reloading manual to a friend overseas who is loading 148gr hollow base wadcutter 38special with black powder for use in a Kirst conversion cylinder on a Pietta 1851 Navy.
I want a manual that explains the reloading process in detail.
Give me a recommendation. It would be nice if the manual has the bullet he is reloading for in it.
I think he will eventually see the light and reload with smokeless.

That's the one. However, the question wasn't answered.
Let me re-ask the question a little more clear - can someone here that has a reloading manual check the section on 38special as see if their book has have a loading table for hollow base wadcutters.
Ideally the book would also have the section on the reloading process.
I still in Africa and don't have access to my powder manual.0 -

The old Speer manual from the 1980's has the 148 HB or BBWC listed. It was set up for the old S&W 52 match pistol.
Black powder is a different beast and I have no idea how to choose a charge for charcoal burners. It seems a good way to ruin a gun in my way of thinking. Have him load them with 2.7-3.0 of Bullseye and enjoy almost as much smoke as black powder gives.0 -
For cast bullets, the Lyman manual is superior in every way. 0 -
my favorite is the Lyman manual, closely followed by the Lee. The Lee has a lot more load data than any other manual i have seen. have both if you are able. 0 -
