22 Ammo Prices

In my part of the world 325 rounds is about 21 dollars a box or more. Even at WM.

I did buy some CCI cyber Monday for cheap with free shipping.

    I doubt I will ever have to buy any 22lr ammo in my life.


    I had a good friend who died last year and his daughter called me and told me to come get all his ammo and reloading stuff. He had 200,000 rounds of 22lr he got from the CMP, all federal and stored in ammo cans with silicate packs inside. This stuff is from the 90's and it shoots great, standard velocity lead.

    Buy 5 boxes (1625) and shipping is free.
    You should consider 10 boxes (a case) IMO

    Sam, even changing ultimately worn out barrels, it might take you a minute or two to go through that much .22!

    I used to think a brick was a massive amount. When I looked awhile ago I found I had about 13 bricks. Then they had the $20 rebate on a 1600 round box @ $69.00 a few days ago & I couldn't help myself.
    Sure I remember .22s @ 49 cents a box (I still have a couple of boxes of .22 shorts with that price tag) but that was fifty years ago. That just reflects the plunge in the value of the Dollar.

    You are old. I remember when a box was 59 cents. Also as a kid, I would go in and buy ammo.

    I can get it now for about 3 cents per round. Jacketed, high velocity.

    Actually I'm looking for subsonic at a good price now. [8D]

    i started working in our service station when i was 12....long before box stores were around...when i got my learners permit at 14? i drove regular to a wholesaler 50 miles away and LOADED it with hunting and fishing gear ..sold loads of hi standard 22 pistols and ammo mostly 22 and shotgun ...really dropped off when the first box store went in 25 miles away...anyone want a firearm ?...just put yer money down and THANKS.... seems like 22 were 20-30 cts a box ...can't be sure now..we we open 7 days a week 7am-9pm..and i also worked weekends and holidays during school so regular guys could get off ...back then we were the 2nd larget business in our town..had farmlines and sold appliances and TVs at the store when black and white first came out

    i have around 5000, more than enough for my needs. i'd rather enlarge my stocks of the ammo used in guns used more often during trips to the range/hills such as 223/308/7.62x39...kids get bored just shooting 22s and want to shoot the big guns

    I bought .22lr at western auto for $5.00 a brick (500 or 10 boxes of 50). I was 14 and there was no problem. When I had $5.00 I bought a brick and felt like I was rich. Now I have about 22K and wonder if it will last.

    I haven't counted my .22 ammo in some time, but its hovering somewhere around 30,000.
