"Days seem like weeks," Rob Tibbetts, the young woman's father, said at the news conference. He thanked investigators for their work and the news media for coverage of his daughter's disappearance. "We're all in this together. We're all trying to bring Mollie back."
Reward fund tops $170,000
Mollie Tibbetts' relatives and friends have been posting fliers seeking information on her whereabouts. Her family and Crime Stoppers of Central Iowa announced Thursday that a reward fund has raised more than $170,000.
"We believe that Mollie is still alive and, if someone has abducted her, we are pleading with you to please release her," said her mother, Laura Calderwood.
Calderwood said she feels her daughter's presence every day. "Mollie was an incredibly strong young woman, and I don't know that I have the strength in me, but Mollie is lending me her strength every day, every night," she said.
Rob Tibbetts called the reward "another tool in our arsenal" to bring her home.
"We're providing this fund to provide some financial incentive for someone who's otherwise reluctant to come forward," he said Thursday.
Asked whether he had a message for his missing daughter, the father earlier told HLN, CNN's sister network: "Just hang in there, pie. We're fighting like hell. ... We'll find you."
More than 200 interviews have been conducted in the investigation into Tibbetts' disappearance, said Richard Rahn, the special agent in charge with the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation for the Major Crime Unit, earlier this week.

Investigators have been looking at various data, including social media and information from a Fitbit that Tibbetts is known to have used.
'No one just disappears'
Tibbetts, a sophomore, was studying psychology and wanted to earn a doctorate and write books, her father said.
"It's intolerable. No one just disappears, no one just vanishes without a trace," he told HLN.
On the day she vanished, Tibbetts' brother dropped her off at her boyfriend's house so she could dog-sit, HLN reported. She was last spotted jogging around 7:30 that evening, wearing gym shorts, a black sports bra and running shoes, the sheriff's office said.
Calderwood said the recent weeks have felt like torture.
"The first night she went missing, I was distraught," Calderwood told CNN affiliate KCCI in Des Moines. "I knew her phone was dead, but I sent her a text saying, 'I love you. We're looking for you. We will find you no matter what.'"

Tibbetts was last seen on July 18 at around 7:30 p.m. when she went out on a run. She was last seen wearing dark-colored running shorts, a pink sports top and running shoes, according to police.
Tibbetts? boyfriend, Dalton Jack, said he received a Snapchat message from her at 10:00 p.m.

My initial expectation was that she'd been struck by a hit and run vehicle while "running" along a sideroad but considering the number of eyes prowling, that seems unlikely now.0 -

Fascinating story. I saw a video of the house where she was staying, it is a beautiful 1905 era rural house well kept up. She was there by herself dog sitting.
Went for a jog, then went back to the house, and then, gone!
This is rural Iowa and it looks like the safest place in the world. I must admit, my normal precautions for a female going jogging, that she leave the GD earphones at home, and that she have a can of pepper spray in her hand, and that in the house she lock the house doors and have a .38 nearby, my normal admonitions might have gone out the window in this case, it looks like such a peaceful safe place.
She got kidnapped and was, probably, dead in a shallow grave 2 weeks ago. I can't imagine the suffering that her parents are going through. Also what a terrible ordeal for a young dollie she had such a bright smile on her face. Nightmare.0 -

There are active serial killers all over this country. There are 40+ missing and unsolved adult woman disappearances in this area alone since the late 70s. 0 -

Anything is possible but for a perp to pull off I-80 to randomly cruise a small burg like Brooklin in hopes of finding a pretty young woman to snatch would be a long shot.
We have family living in the area and Son lived only a few miles from Brooklin for several years. It's just not a spot where one would expect this sort of activity.

It was reported that a red t-shirt linked to Mollie's job had been found, but her mom says her daughter owned two of those shirts and they are both in her room
