Need a good book recommendation
Sunday I'm flying to Los Angeles. 5 hr flight. Need a good audible book or pdf. Any recommendations?
Last actual bock I read was Jack Hinson's One Man War. Good stuff.
I've run out of good fiction. Done Grisham and Clancy. Lee Child sucks. Matt Bracken is great. Ayn Rand is the greatest classic literature I've found and underrated. Lights Out by Halffast was great. John Wesley Rawles was very good. John Ross's Unintended Consequences was just under Ayn Rand and outstanding.... I've run out of good books. Even Bill Cooper's Behold A Pale Horse wasn't bad. The Turner Diary was interesting and some truth but was written by a 4th grade educated moron.
I'll take classic, Soviet Union era, or WWII but looking for a good fiction yarn.

If you like Clancy's Jack Ryan series, you may want to take a look at Dale Brown.
Definitely not anything deep. In the same vein as Clancy, but a bit more of a futuristic techno-politic genre.0 -
"The Things They Carried" by Tim O'Brien- but it's Vietnam era, not fiction but interesting.
"The Last Fighter Pilot" by Jerry Yellin- WWII but again not fiction.
"All the Light We Cannot See" by Anthony Doerr is WWII fiction and overall was good.
"Unbroken" by Laura Hillenbrand is WWII, not fiction, but will make you angry.
If you like Western fiction, author Dusty Rhodes is good, Elmer Kelton is good. My dad likes Jack Higgins.0 -

"The Last Centurion" by John Ringo is also a very interesting read. It's not part of any of his military thriller or mil/SF series that are also fun reads.0 -

Try reading "Robinson Crusoe." I just finished the 1912 edition. Fantastic in its near original form!

Most of the series of books by Erik Maria Remark.(skip the post WW II).
Start of course with "All Quite on the Western Front" & read them in historical order ending with "A time to Love and a Time to Die."0 -

You will not be unhappy with any book by Dean Koontz.
