One guy who's music I really liked was
Johnny Rivers.
I thought he was Dead but he is still alive. He is a fellow Louisianian and from the other side of the River(I was born in Slidell).
He was buds with Ricky Nelson another guy who was a great musician.

They were talking about him on Sirius radio the other day. He was born in NY City, and is Italian, named Julio Dormando or something.
So how did a NY Italian kid learn how to sing like that?
When he was 9 years old his family moved to Louisiana. He grew up a Southerner, and changed his name to Johnny Rivers and the rest is history.
I always liked his songs. Never knew he did "By the Time I Get to Phoenix."0
