Spent my next week's DVD and eats money on ammo
Just got back from the gun show at the Cow Palace. It was very sparse like no one was worried about what's to take place Next July. Picked up 150 rounds of Hornady 168gr HPBT for $150 (including tax). I think I did okay.
Also picked up a M14 butt plug tool kit. That was $40. Came with a ratcheting chamber brush, That gas block tool. Separately that tool was $10. I might've been better off buying that and the ratcheting chamber brush and the $10 tool. I'll just use the sectional bore brush guide to turn the ratchet. No way in hell I'd use that to clean the bore. The kit just made it easy. Like one stop shop.
Found a place in Mountain View that sold Black Hills in 168 and 175 for $33/$37 box of 20. The other place was closed so I don't know if they carried them. Didn't see any at the gun show. The Load X guy had 178gr AMEX that he was developed for $21 for 20 rounds. All out but I'll have to call him to bring a case in November.
He's working with Berger 185 gr "Juggernaut" projectiles for the .308Win that he might have ready in/by November. I'll have to call and see. He was telling me about the 1600 yard outing where the 2 out of 10 shots hitting the target in high winds. So I better start saving cash for these. I think I'll have to cut all meat out of my diet all together and dig deep like way back of the pantry.
I'll definitely have to find another gun to consign. Maybe even two. Unless I can sell my sperm. If I were in Japan my seed would've created the next generation of Sumo champion. No Mongolian Yokozunas. Pure Japo champions for the Japo sport.

None of my business but before I bought large quantities of any peticular ammo I would buy maybe a box each of several different loads and see what it liked. From past experience I would start with Federal 168 Gold Metal 0 -

You might want to do some research on the gas system and which round your rifle was designed for.

Ricci Wright - Being in California starting next July I'll have to go through a back ground check to buy ammo. I think there might be a snitch clause if I buy too much ammo at one sitting. So I'm buying kind a blind but I did read what she likes. If not my Sommer Und Ockenfuss will use what the M25 don't like. Or at the very worst I'll sell the ammo like a drug dealer to make my money back.
I was kind a thinking a lead sled but those things I can get without issue and have it delivered to my door via internet.

She's basically a tricked out M1A National Match. I don't think she was designed for any one particular round. Maybe more like a "range" of rounds.
Other than what the Springfield email answerer told me they used Black Hills or Federal they didn't seem too particular. Federal Gold Match is pretty easy to find. Black Hills not so much and Hornady I didn't see anywhere but a the gun show. Besides a box is 20 rounds I won't have much of a hoarded stash.
As for damaging the M25? I'd sooner lose a limb. Not a ear or an eye but a limb. Spending $5500 (I forgot I had to pay $500 in sales tax) for this privilege of ownership. I should think about placing claymors and laser beams to secure up this rifle when I have to go to my jobbie job. I wonder if I could get a Browning pro Steel inside another safe?0 -

By the way, California is doing away with the lead projectiles not to protest the wild life. They're doing it to further their anti-gun agenda. You see they can argue if you can't hunt, then what's the use of having firearms0 -

remingtonoaks - Pretty sure they're cross eyed. I remember couple of them a few years back dropping to the ground. I think they forgot which way was the sky. Set that inbreeding program back to making the parents much closer. 1st and second cousins? Or was it closer? I think they started with 20 birds and they didn't have the "Jurassic Park" gap filler so we're talking old school isolated village ho-down.
Yeah I know and a boon in predators coming down to their doors should make folks realize they need to take critters. Oh but no. Just throw more regs and money at the problem. When cougars are roaming towns like Carmel, P.G. and Pebble Beach I just have to wonder, when lord will they drag one of those slow dim folks in to the bushes like in Oregon?

Your thinking may be suspect/mistaken on this matter.
When the M1A/M14 was the darling of the 'National Matches' ammunition was 'issued' to the shooters. Specific 'National Match' 7.62 NATO Match ammo.
You might want to do some research or reach out to guys like BobSki who shot in the NMs with M14s. (I just wouldn't mention butt plugs/sperm/etc to Bob)0 -
I don't do "DVD's" and I eat cheap(even cheaper when/if my Burger King gift card runs out).
Truth is, I spent ALL of my last two paychecks on ammo.0
