It looks like it was porn that shut down the Sun Spot Observatory, specifically child porn.

The mysterious closure of the Sunspot Solar Observatory was due to an FBI investigation into a janitor suspected of sending and receiving child pornography, court records have revealed.

After the observatory in New Mexico was evacuated by tight-lipped federal agents on September 6, conspiracy theories abounded that the incident might have something to do with alien contact.

The facility re-opened on Monday, and federal court documents filed on Wednesday revealed the sickening truth about the cryptic 11-day closure.

A night janitor was suspected of using the observatory's WiFi network to send and receive pornographic images of children from his personal laptop, according to a search warrant.

    observatory canceled the cleaning contract with the company using this janitor...which happens to be owned by his parents..well they might as well shut down and retire

    Why shut down the whole facility because of one deranged janitor using a company computer on the night shift??? Sounds like some punk FBI agents that are grasping for things to do 'cause the big boys upstairs won't let them play in prime time.

    I think it was the address for the wifi hotspot not the computer that the FBI had tracked. I guess they shut down the USPS because someone "could" have been getting on the wifi from outside the building?

    Just a guess.





    One thing that has really struck me is how many people are getting caught with child porn. I have seen at least 3 articles about it just today. That says a lot about a society and it's not good.

    Ignorant people got by until it became easy for them to send/receive porn on the internet. They didn't understand what they were doing and how many way there were to get caught.

    Using ANYTHING but your personal connection on your personal computer is saying,,, COME AND GET ME. Saw a few people lose their jobs because they were using company computers for personal use.

    Companies have logs of you activity SAVED on their computers and many have YEARS of backup files. Just look at STUPID CLITON, what a dummy about computers.

    Smitty, they clearly served a search warrant, and that meant clearing the place while they searched. Nothing more than that.
