Ribs at $2.49/lb. (Arby saying $1.77 @ Kroger.)

Food Lion. (At least here.) I guess they overbought for July 4th.
(Pork Ribs.) I went in and bought another 6 racks, just a while ago. Had to figure out how to get them in the freezer I bought a couple weeks ago, in order to take advantage of the meat deals I was seeing.

Take advantage of the deal if you can/choose.


Just a heads up. Best deal I have seen in a while. (I love ribs.)

    Not really a deal here. They are $1.89/$1.99 all the time here. I love ribs too! I usually buy 4 or 6 racks at a time.

    It's all good. It forced me to pull out a couple large London Broils in order to make room. Thin sliced (cross grain) salt/pepper each layer. Worchestershire sauce, Frank's Red Hot Sweet Chili, Stubbs liquid smoke, Stubbs Beef Marinade. Chipotle smoked chili dust. Etc etc. Two days marinating, (or three) on to the dehydrator. 185* for twelve hours. Good Sheeit. [:D]

    I smoke ribs with a dry rub on them.

    I eat them at least once a month and Live them[:p]

    Yeah that's about the typical price. On "sale" $1.67 a pound for Farmer John untrimmed spare ribs.

    Pork ribs in my area seem to be segregated into two different groups.

    The baby backs which are always the most expensive, but could go on sale for around 2.99 a pound.

    Then the larger racks which I guess are from more mature pigs and often go on sale for 1.89 a pound.

    These days the big stores have been doing most of the sales with that old gimmick, BUY ONE, GET ONE FREE.[:0] If you don't get sticker shock on the price of ONE......reminds me of some furniture salesman who started moonlighting at a grocery store![:D]

    Yep, Same here. I like ribs but pork tenderloin is my favorite. Dry rub or BBQ.
    $2.59 at COSTCO last Sat.

    All pork products are on sale around here for the last couple of weeks. Good prices on roasts, ribs and chops nearly everywhere. The 'Baby Back Ribs' usually stay higher because of demand but the regular rib racks will run between $1.49 - $1.79/lb. These are proving to be a terrific meal when done on the grill or the smoker (my favorite). I bought a whole loin the other day for $1.69/lb. which will be cut into a roast and thick cut chops. Good eats for the summer season!

    we just bought a whole pork loin yesterday for $168./lb. and sliced free

    Kroger here is running a rib special this weekend at $1.77/pound.

    Stores are trying to reduce their pork inventories before China puts a bigger dent in the market over the tariff deal. IMHO: don't borrow money to buy cheap pork YET.

    I heard the Chinese aren't buying since the tariff went in to effect. That was on BBC so we all know which way they lean. I'd buy if I had the freezer space.

    Fine with me but I'm just saying it may get even cheaper.
    You may also see a drop in the "canner beef" (burger and roasts)prices as older breeding stock goes to market due to the drought conditions in the MidWest.
