    Funny, I said about the same thing when Bush was president and the Republicans controlled both houses of Congress for FOUR YEARS, from 2003 to 2007.

    Well, maybe NOT so funny.
    Lets not talk about the rights violating legislation, and firearm bans, that were ENACTED under that Republican administration.

    Unfortunately the Republicans controlled both houses but they didn't have a large enough majority in both houses to pass anything without getting at least some Democrats to vote for it. Remember the Democrats controlled both houses by large enough majorities in Obama's first two years and the Republicans were powerless to stop them from passing anything they wanted which is why we got Obamacare. We should probably be grateful they didn't do more damage with bad laws than they did during this black time.
