my first ????

servicing a pickup on the car lift yesterday afternoon in the shop and happened to look up ...and... about 2/3 the way up the east side of the roof was a bright spot of sky...?????....about 25' from the end of the 54' wide building....got the bucket truck out and got my self up on the 14' eave roof and scooted up there to find about a hunting rifle size hole...closed shop doors ahd wife got inside while i showed a bright pocket LED lite down guessing what looked like the entry angle ...could not find a definite hit mark in the concrete nor damage to vehicles and tractors ?????? siliconed it up and will get a hi temp silicone with piece of tin when weather is better ....came from a long ways away at almost a straight down angle ????

    I guess just lucky it was just a hole in the roof

    a couple years back and close to us
    a young Amish girl was killed while riding in a buggy with her family bullet fell from the sky took her out DRT
    after some searching and investigating and luck ,,some distance away AND
    they found that a Amish young man just finished hunting so he just pointed his muzzle loader up and fired it into the sky to clear out the round had witness that he did it and he admitted to doing it .
    I remember he was charged but for what and how it turned out for him I never heard

    I remember reading about that story a couple years ago as well. Pretty sure the shot was fired about a mile away from where the victim was hit.

    It put a lot of questions about the distances placed shots from muzzle loading rifles traveled all over the internet forums I hang out in! Squirrel hunters who like to take tree shots were amazed and many educated in the fine art of safe practices!

    Big difference from a bullet falling from gravity and one still being artificially accelerated. Or so I am told.

    Once it leaves the barrel it is no longer being "artificially accelerated". Once it reaches its zenith, it's being "naturally accelerated" by gravity. Or so I am told.

    Got my Riding lawn mower once during New Years.

    I used to live in Indy and worked at a Large Gun Store (Guess which one).

    New years and July 4th were times when ammo out sold any thing else.
    1,000's of round of ammo going out.

    Wife and I stayed in the Basement those nights.

    Handled many calls about people finding a bullet on the bed in a trailer park. Bullet had no more energy after penetrating the roof of a mobile home. I always advised to repair the roof with some Henerys as soon as possible.
