Merry Christmas everyone

I just wanted to wish you all a Merry Christmas, while I have a chance. Family is in from Texas and Donna and I are leaving for Saint Augustine, Florida on the 26th, So I won't have a chance to check in much. Everyone have a Blessed Christmas and I hope some had a wonderful Hanukkah. May you all find peace and health, in 2019. Oakie and Donna Taggart

    it`s good to sign in again, i`m surprised that i still remember my sign in details it`s been so long.
    i have been flat out studying, and it sucks big time! i`m 50 years old, and it`s been a year or two since i have had to hit the books.
    i have finished the first year and one more to go. i`m studying to be a laboratory technician...i hope to find a job working in a lapidary lab doing thin sections(you will have to look it up) and crushing/pulverising of rock and mineral samples as well as doing xrf and xrd work as well( you will have to look those up too as it will take me too bloody long to type out what they are [}:)][;)])the go with it is geologists find rocks and minerals and want to know what is in them and it`s the lab techs job to find out and present the information to the geologist...they are actually mostly as thick as a brick, how they got their qualifications is beyong me [}:)][:D] the one drawback with wanting to study/learn that is that there is nowhere in this country that teaches it, the only way to learn is to work in a lapidaty lab and learn hands on. but at least i am learning general lab tech skills while i`m going for the diploma.
    the theory side of the classes drove me crazy, and some people breezed through it....but strangely when we got to the "hands on" stuff i hit my stride and a hell of a lot of the people who breezed throgh the theory side of things struggled...go figure that one![:I]
    it was strange to be studying chemistry again....but it came back slowly to my dead brain cells...the thing i hated and still do is the rotten maths!! we had to do a compulsoty maths class but the maths we learnt had no relationship to the maths we are doing in the classes..and i told them so too, but they take as much notice of me as do politicians one week after an election[:(]

    anyway, it will be good to catch up on some gossip here.

    St. Augustine had snow flurries last night according to some friends of ours that were there to see the lights of the city. Have a great time and have a Merry Christmas .

    We go for the new years eve fireworks and party on the beach. They have live bands and over 100 vendors. Great time
