C&R FFL Verification During Govt Shutdown

I called the ATF number today to confirm a C&R license number. (I've never done this before - so I don't know what's "normal" from a user experience perspective.)

I got voicemail. It said leave the first 3(?) and last 4 digits of the license number and they'd call back.

No call back yet (again - maybe that's normal - it's only been 1/2 a day).

Getting voicemail did make me wonder if it's impacted because of the shutdown. Is that the case?

  "Normal" is to compare the information on the C&R license with the information of the buyer's drivers license; if they match & no problem is observed, do the transfer.
  
  ATF does not feel the need to "confirm" a license #; if it's good enough for the fellas with the bulges in the cheap suits, then it's good enough for me.
