The plan is a 3 day weekend on Martha's vineyard in the updated vintage tiny cabin...

The ride up the mass pike - cruising past Wood's hole oceanographic research institute - late fall foliage and early winter coastal winds...

Taking the ferry from the mainland - braving the weather to watch the approach over the bow...

Stop at the black dog cafe and the local townie grocery store for supplies...

Some cabin prep - some books - some music - so basic good food - just me and Makaila and some basic recreational options.

No TV - just us.

That's the plan - and it has girl approval.

    I've got a fair amount of experience on Martha's Vineyard. I love the laid back atmosphere of that place. Riding the ferry over, is a special experience. Stacking rocks on the beach, etc.


    Last couple times over there, I was on my motorcycle.

    A quaint improved road halfway between lake tashmoo and Franklin

    12 small cottages or cabins built after WWI circa 1950 - Sears and roebuck pre-built catalog homes

    A small but deep creek runs behind all the back yards - each lot is 1.8 acres and no further development or subdivision is allowed

    700 square feet - detached garage

    Side of the road opposite the houses is heavily populated with old mature trees

    It's a townee or year rounder area - no blow ins or summer folk

    Check in at the MV rod and gun club (sponsored life member since 1996)

    We may take the ferret and the hedgehog

    I may take a few .22 rimfires if the weather looks agreeable
