12am...12pm, something doesn't jive
Ever wonder why 12 noon is 12pm and midnight 12am?
I mean someone must have screwed something up along the way somewhere, it goes 10am, 11am, 12pm, 1pm, 2pm, etc. Does that make any sense? To start the count at 12 instead of 1... shouldn't it go 11am, 12am 1pm?

Ahhhh! You are just suffering from the inability to shut your brain down\relax before falling asleep. A common problem for many. Applying logic to an illogical world can drive ya nuts!

ante meridian and post meridian
The meridian happens at noon. Therefore 1 minute later, 12:01 is post meridian. One minute after midnight is ante meridian.0 -

Stop worrying about it and convert your clocks, phone and watch to 24 hour time keeping like the military does. Simple, straight forward and you always know what the time really means.

hate time changes...once had one of those "atomic" watches that followed the time signal...but it would not change when one crossed a time zone ..so useless...... 0 -
I agree. 11:59 am & 12:00 am, then 00:01 pm.

Post-meridian and ante-meridian.
At 12:00:01 noon, the sun is post-meridian. Makes sense that 12:00:00 would also be post-meridian.
Technically, at precisely 12:00:00 noon and at 12:00:00 midnight, the sun is at the meridian, so if you absotively require accuracy, you can use 12 noon or 12 midnight for this infinitesimally short period of time.0 -
