Mother in law passed

My mother in law passed last night. It was actually a blessing. She has been in a long term care facility, for the last ten years with dementia. She had no quality of life and didn't speak or walk for the last five years. This was Donna's step mother. Her real mother passed when she was 9. My mother in law was a very nice lady, and her and I got a long great. We spent a lot of time discussing politics and reading the same books and newspapers. She was always kind to me and very sweet. She was a lifelong democrat, but would always listen to my point of view, as did I to hers. We could have a discussion, without having an argument. She did hate Obama though[:D], so I give the old girl credit. Ethel will be very much missed in our family. May She dwell in the house of our Lord. Miss ya mom, Oakie

    I'm sorry for your loss. I know what it feels like to have someone who is in long term care and not really living any kind of life. Knowing they are in a better place brings a lot of peace to everyone that cared for them.

    Thank you everyone. Donna lost her father back in the spring and now her step mother. She is handling it better than I thought. We surrounded her with love and family. Thanks again. Oakie and Donna.

    See it as freedom from the the long term care system.

    But free from any burden and confusion - after a long hard fight - a time of peace and rest amongst family and friends whom preceded her.
