    Agreed... There are since additives you can by. Lead additives as well.


    Rotella T has the most and can be used in cars just not diesel engines. Here is a link to some zinc.

    My Nissan has almost 500,000 miles.When it was new and I changed the oil the first time I used Castrol.From then until now I used Mobil 1 and I would buy Japanese made filters from a local independent shop.The name on the filters is Full.They are well made and packaged filters.But I also ran the small block powered El Camino 320,000 miles on 10-40w Havoline with Fram filters.The old engine was running fine when I pulled it,I just wanted something wit a little more horsepower.

    When I traded my 35yr. wheel horse in the dealer said, my my wallie that oil is soooooo clean.

    But I could not tell a lie and told him the dip stick is blind with clean oil only.
    I have never changed oil??.he almost fainted

    I used to think that the brand of oil mattered.

    Then I went to the 'Bob is the Oil Guy' website.

    For practically any brand of oil you can think of, somebody has sent in a sample of their used oil to have in analyzed. Every time it comes back that the oil was still performing as intended, prior to being changed. No difference from most to least expensive.

    Interesting, my new computer must have liked what I posted on this and decided it should be repeated!

    I probably couldn't get that to happen again if I tried.

    Rise of the machines - it probably needs an oil change!
