happy gift giving ritual day

wonder how much of what everyone worked so hard for, and went into credit card debt for, will be on curb for trash pick up this week?[?]

    all that work and effort to be part of the season of giving...and odds are, you gave more than you got. so, basically x-mas was a spending spree that cost you about 1000.00 to do.

    but how many of you REALLY gave the birthday boy anything?

    thats right...this isnt a season of giving, its a birthday. it was JESUS CHRISTS birthday.
    did you acknowledge him at all this day?
    did you?
    what did HE GET today?
    why not give your LIFE TO HIM now and fufill the PURPOSE of the season.

    see folks, it was about what GOD GAVE US that we are suppose to be celebrating. not getting or hoping for a new plazma tv. dont come to the party empty handed. make the birthday boys day and make HIM your most wanted gift.

    food for thought...to all this season.

    nothing in this house hold was put on plastic unless a debit card was used , which is the same as using cash.. but that might change today as I'm watching a few auctions and if I win one of those, I will use CC as I don't use my Debit card online

    I use credit cards fairly regularly instead of carrying a lot of cash, but balances are always paid off when the statement arrives (or before). I don't carry a balance past the due date. I'm debt-free except for routine recurring expenses.

    Since I retired, I give my kids and grandkids lots of LOVE!

    A gift they always seem to return, and not because they have to.[:)]

    One card that we pay up each month. Money goes a lot further when you are not paying 21% interest.

    Our gift giving was limited to kids, grandkids, and a really nice family next door- along with Salvation Army and Fisher House. Lot simpler that way.

    I knew a family where the kids opened presents and within 1 week, it was all in the trash.

    Every gift we bought was paid for in cash. We had a very light Christmas this year which was fine by me. I know it?s not going to happen but if I could skip the whole damn holiday season I would lol. I worked last Christmas so didn?t have to go to my wife?s family party..this year I went. Next year I?ll put in to work lol.

    Christmas has become a Merchant's Holiday and sometimes the "Reason for the Season" gets pushed into background of all the glitter.

    Santa Claus is for the children...The Christmas spirit is a time for family and friends to share good times and good food.

    What little present giving we do is in the form of Gift Cards, that way folks can buy something they want/need instead of something that the can't use and/or didn't want.
