Couldn't wait, yosh. The monsoon can last for six weeks or more, oxygen levels in the cave are dropping, and they'd be in serious hypothermia in no time. With no chance of resupply or even contact due to rising waters.
If you ever been through an Asian monsoon, you know that it's possible to drown ABOVE ground in that kind of rain. Trapped in an underground bubble? Not survivable.0 -

Reminds me of how great we all felt when the miners in Chile all got out. Then the terrible letdown with all the squabbles afterward.
Hope this remains a positive story except of course for the man who died. Very nice story about the local people who are helping with free meals & laundry service for the rescue people.0 -

No in Thailand they are treating the coach as a hero because he got all the boys to safety once it started flooding.
This is a cave that is pretty typical to go into, the team had planned to do it- he didnt just randomly have all the kids follow him in there.0 -
