How to keep tater chip bags from exploding
I haven?t figured this out yet! There are some brands of chips in Pa that you can?t get west of PA, Hartleys and Middleswarth and when I?m back there I like to stock up and bring them home and usually I can make the trip with them and no issues. But when I have to cross Wyoming I run into problems.
This time I took a sewing needle and poked a couple holes in the bags, well 4 out of 10 bags went kaboom going over Sherman [:(!]
Any tricks to having them not explode besides eating them before I get to the Rockies?

I have never heard of this problem. You mean if you had a whole trailer load of chips the bags would swell and possibly split the containers they were in? I can't believe it. 0 -

Very well could depending on if they are packaged for transit or local sale. I-80 west of Cheyenne reaches a tad over 8000? and several places aling this route are over 7000?.
When I started driving you could not haul Budwieser over the Rockies depending in where it was brewed, cans would explode in the trailer. Today with the way of canning and bottling that is no longer an issue.
But yes, some packaging will pop in higher elevations.0 -

The Tupperware should work just fine. Open the bags and dump the chips in and seal them up. They will stay fresh and won?t explode. 0 -
