What kind of Woodstove do you have?
I'll go first.
A Fischer Grand-Pa model, double doors, stepped flat top. Cooking on it is a plus. (Pinto beans, etc.)

A small Buckstove. It does real well for the mancave. 0 -
A pellet stove. Wanted to get a regular wood stove but because of the exhaust pipe requirements for the house we have it would have been ridiculously expensive(would have required about 20? of double wall stainless pipe). I do like not having to cut and stack firewood though. 0 -

I bought this wood stove from a catalog, it was cheaper than the other stoves. I haven't had the chance to fire it up yet.0 -

Vermont Castings Intrepid. I have it in my den which is 25x16 with 13 ft. ceiling. I had another woodstove in another room that was larger, it was a Hearthmate. It heated my whole house, 2600 sf. I put in a gas fireplace and got rid of that one but I don't use that now. I have found that the little Intrepid is plenty. During power outages in the winter, my house temp has not been below 62. 0 -

My set up, is a fireplace that a friend cut a steel plate to precisely fit/fill the opening. Spray foam (fireproof) to fill the edges around the steel plate. (Fireplace is stone, so some variances existed.)
Cut a couple inches off the back legs of the stove to allow for the step up/ledge leading to the fireplace. Front legs rest on a galvanized piece of metal used as a spark deterrent on the wood floor leading to and covering a very nice sculpted room size Persian rug.
Precisely cut entry hole in the steel plate to match the rear exit hole/exhaust of the woodstove. A 5" (length) 8" (diameter) pipe goes in to this opening. A flange covers the minor gaps between the pipe and the circular cut in the steel plate.
I posted this thread, due to pretty much re-doing my fit/assembly of the above described set up, this past Monday evening (a 2-3 hour re-do.)0 -

Longwood furnace bought in 1979. Will take a piece of wood 5' long, door is 11" square. It is a whale of a good furnace.
Now that I have bragged on it, it will probably fall apart.0
