Texas 4-Wheel ATV Registration Question
I see used 4-wheelers advertised for sale by individuals, "No title, bill of sale only." I was under the impression that 4-wheelers are required to be titled and registered in Texas. Am I wrong? If I buy one with no title, can I get into trouble?

You might want to check with the local dmv.
Of course if you are driving it only on private land, I dont think it's going to matter.
As a side note, my good friend has a business where he flips four wheelers, three wheeler, dirt bikes and high end go karts (think Honda oddesy types...)
He told me that one of the first things he does when he goes to look at a quad to buy to flip and the seller has no paperwork is he calls the local police department to see if anyone has reported a stolen four wheeler.
Of course he lives in Virginia and it's not uncommon to see 15 year old fourwheelers with no paperwork that still belong to the original owner!0 -
In Idaho they are titled and have special plates. $12.00 a year. The money goes to fund ATV trails on public land (72% of land in Idaho is public). ATVs can be ridden on paved roads if the speed limit is 55 mph or less. Small rural communities can make money off of ATV riders and snowmobile riders. 0 -
