    My nephew still lives up there. Big gun nut and hunter.
    Long Island and staten Island are bow hunting only areas.

    A normal person would just offer more/longer hunting permits
    and MAKE money, not spend it.
    But the goody two shoes want to get rid of the deer and still
    say they didn't kill them doing it.
    It's so nice to reduce the herd size by stopping them from reproducing. Didn't Hitler try that with the Jews?

    Who's really at fault... A dumb animal that doesn't know better to watch out for cars? Or dumb driver that should know better to watch out for dumb animals?

    More deers or more people. That reminds me last Friday I was out and about headed to Salinas on Reservation where the old Fort Ord heli pad was. There I saw a dead buck in the center divide. Now with homes built along East Garrison (about a mile down from the dead buck) along Reservation opened (read no wire fencing) There should be more fender meat. Typically dead deers are more on highway 68 and East but with global warming [:D].

    I kind a am looking forward to an explosion of Mountain Lions.

    They said it paid $240,000 for a job that ZipRecruiter says normally pays $29,968. So it's a pork barrel project.


    I could see city people wanting parks full of deer which don't multiply until food pressure makes them spill over into nearby communities where they'll get run over.


    Getting a hunter bonded and insured so he could fire a high powered rifle in New York City probably would cost plenty, then the pork barrel corruption would inflate it nearly 10x just as fast as the tranquilizing.

    Cornell University did the same thing. Then they put collars on the ones they did. I saw a Doe with a collar and twin fawns one spring. Vet students must have cut wrong tubes.
