Softest recoiling, what about a ..........

One of the replies on my earlier post about needing a low recoiling shotgun mentioned a Weatherby SA-08. I know nothing about Weatherby's.

So those of you who have owned/shot SA-08s what do you think of them both positive and negative?? How about compared to a 11-87?? Thanks!!

    for the most part Gas operated shot guns will have less felt recoil [^][:D][^]also there are low recoil shells available

    My brother has one and he likes it a lot I have shot it a few times it has always worked and I didn't think the recoil was too bad at all and we was shooting some pretty stout buckshot loads

    I did my searching last year for a shotgun for my kids(daughter is 12 and son is 9). I ended up gettinh a p p youth model SA08 20ga and we are all pleased with it. I can?t directly compare it to any 20ga other than a Browning A5, which is also a pleasure to shoot. I think the Weatherby is a solid gun that shoots softly and comes with gas cylinders for light or heavy loads.

    I posted on that topic and mentioned the Weatherby SA-O8 so I'll expand. I've had the 20 gauge synthetic, 28" for two years. It's has performed flawlessly in hot dust bowl conditions with 3", 1 1/8 shot #7.5 lead shot, as well as 2 3/4, 1 oz high brass loads.

    Also, while duck hunting, with ice on the gun, dipped in the water a few times, it cycled the Hevi-Metal 3" as well as the Winchester Blind side brand. I carried it around the property using it as a tree trimmer, shooting random loads, mostly some 2 3/4 #6 shot, worked just fine. No special cleaning, if it can't hack a solid week in the flooded timber, duck hunting, without being cleaned then I don't need it. It worked just fine.

    The recoil with the stoutest loads was minimal. It's had a bunch of rounds run through it, I don't know how many, but nary a problem.

    I was skeptical of a Turkish made shotgun, but Weatherby has polished the thing just right and it's pretty slick. Stoeger is rough as a cob but not this.
